Humanitarian aid distributed to the homeless of Moscow 4th February 2006
On Saturday afternoon, February 4, 2006, prior to the celebration of the All-night Vigil for the Feast of the Holy New Martyrs of Russia and the Sunday of Zacchaeus, humanitarian aid, including food, clothing, school supplies and toys were distributed to homeless of Moscow at St. Catherine the Great Martyr Church.
The items were purchased with funds donated from Ss. Peter and Paul Cathedral in Detroit, Michigan, and the distribution was organized by the parish Humanitarian Aid and Social Services Coordinator, Mr. Namerud Negash. Archimandrite Zacchaeus, Dean and Priest Vadim Leonov, cleric of the parish met with the families prior to and during the distribution of the humanitarian aid to discuss ways of future cooperation between St. Catherine the Great Martyr Church and the needy of Moscow.
