Amfilohije attacks Montenegrin authorities for tolerating their own
The Serbian metropolitan in Montenegro Amfilohij voiced sharp
criticism over Montenegrin authorities' tolerance of activities of
the Montenegrin Orthodox Church, reported Radio Free Europe.
At the last night's liturgy held in the monastery of Duljevo near
Budva, Amfilohije accused Montenegro of propagating some kind of a
sect, bringing in false priests, thus inducing unprecedented disgrace.
"The trash spreading throughout the world is being collected to be
imported here", said metropolitan Amfilohije, as responding to the
joint statement of the five Orthodox Churches from Georgia, Italy,
Bulgaria, Ukraine and Montenegro, released on Sunday in Montenegro.
The statement says the Serbian Orthodox Church piles pressure on the
canonically unrecognized Montenegrin Orthodox Church.
Metropolitan Amfilohije is considered as one of the Serbian Church's
hawks, and a possible successor of the Patriarch Pavle. /end/
