Admiral Ushakov becomes the patron saint of the Russian air force long-range
      aviation*
Moscow, September 26, Interfax - Patriarch Alexy II of Moscow and All
Russia and Leut. Gen. Igor Khvostov, commander of the 37th Air Army of the
High Command, led on Monday the ceremony of meeting the Icon of the
Righteous Warrior Theodore Ushakov with a particle of his relics.

In a solemn ceremony the icon was brought in the Memorial Chapel of St.
Elijah the Prophet of God at the headquarters of the Russian air force
long-range aviation. Then a thanksgiving was conducted before it.

Admiral Ushakov 'will become an intercessor for you as you serve your
Fatherland in the long-range aviation', the patriarch said addressing the
military aviators. At the same time, Alexy II reminded them that Admiral
Ushakov did not lose a single battle.

The brining of the icon has become a response of the Russian aviators to the
canonization of the naval commander, the *Orthodox Encyclopaedia* church
      research center reports.
