Fr. Daniel Hubiak, former OCA Chancellor, celebrates 60th ordination anniversary
JERSEY CITY, NY [NY/NJ Diocese Communications]
On Monday, October 1, 2012, His Grace, Bishop Michael will celebrate a special Service of Thanksgiving marking the 60th Anniversary of the priestly ordination of Protopresbyter Daniel Hubiak. The service will take place at 1:00 p.m. at Saints Peter and Paul Church, Jersey City NJ. A reception in the church hall will follow.

Father Daniel and his wife, Matushka Evelyn—affectionately known by all as “Dunia”—have served the Orthodox Church in America with unwavering dedication and faithfulness in a number of capacities and parishes, including Holy Transfiguration Cathedral, Brooklyn, NY; Holy Trinity Church, East Meadow, NY; Saint Sergius Chapel, Syosset, NY; and Saints Peter and Paul Church, Jersey City, NJ. Currently, he is temporarily serving the Church of the Mother of God, Mays Landing, NJ.

Father Daniel served as Chancellor of the Orthodox Church in America for 15 years. In 1970, he was a member of the official delegation sent to Moscow to receive the Tomos of Autocephaly. For several years in the 1990s, he served as the OCA’s first representative in Moscow and Dean of the OCA Representation Church of the Great Martyr Catherine. He and Matushka Dunia are fondly remembered, with love and respect, in every place they have served Christ and His Holy Church.

All clergy colleagues, former parishioners, family and friends of Father Daniel and Matushka Dunia are cordially invited to attend the celebration. Those planning to attend are invited to contact Archpriest Joseph Lickwar at jlickwar@... .
