      Beijing, September 6, 2004.

Lay people conducted a service for the dead (panihida) at the Memorial
Cross located on the territory of the Russian Federation's embassy in
      the PRC.

On Sunday in Harbin's Church of the Protection of the Thotokos, a lay
service was conducted in memory of the victims of Beslan with the
participation of practically the entire Orthodox population of Harbin
      (over 150 people).
