      Athens -- September, 4, 2004

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Greece and the Greek
Orthodox Church (GOC) are ready to finance restoration of the school
in the North Ossetian city of Beslan, destroyed by the terrorists'
barbarous action. ITAR-TASS reported that this was mentioned in the
Greek MFA press release distributed here on Saturday.

" Wishing to demonstrate practical support and solidarity of our
country with the suffering and friendly Russian people, - states the
document, - the Greek MFA undertook a joint initiative on making a
financial contribution to restore the school, the site of martyrdom
      by hundreds innocent victims ".

In the press release notes that means for restoring the school in
Beslan will be received from the Greek MFA, and technical assistance
in realizing this project will be rendered by the nongovernmental
organization "Solidarity" belonging to the GOC.
