Clergy from Various Jurisdictions Concelebrated On the Sunday of Orthodoxy
On the evening of March 4, at SS. Peter and Paul Cathedral in Passaic (New Jersey), the Administrator of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA Archbishop Justinian of Naro-Fominsk and Bishop Jerome of Manhattan, the Vicar of the Eastern American Diocese of ROCOR, celebrated Great Vespers with the Office of the Triumph of Orthodoxy. The Hierarchs were co-served by more than 50 clerics from various parishes of the Patriarchal Parishes, Russian Orthodox Church Abroad and the Orthodox Church in America. Believers flocked from the neighboring parishes in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania. Members of the Cossack Congress in America and its head Ataman, Alexey Mikhailovich Kagantsev, joined in worship during the Vespers service.
The preparations for this event required extensive participation by members of the Church Council of SS. Peter and Paul's church and its Rector Priest Stephen Kaznica; Dean of the Eastern States Deanery Archpriest George Konyev and Secretary of the Eastern American Diocese of ROCOR Archpriest Serge Lukianov.
Archbishop Justinian thanked and congratulated Bishop Jerome and the organizers of the celebration. In turn, His Eminence bestowed Archpastoral Gramotas to clerics and lay people who outstandingly assisted in the organization of this event.
At the conclusion of the event, clergy and worshipers were invited to the Parish Hall of SS. Peter and Paul Cathedral to share a Lenten Meal.
