      Faith and Bristol Bay, AK

Bristol Bay, AK provides a wonderful example of the beauty of God’s
creation supporting the well being of God’s people. For thousands of
years, Bristol Bay has supported native subsistence hunters with its
wealth of salmon. Today, it supports a sustainable commercial fishing
industry and the native communities that call the Bay home. Stewardship
and justice are central to this community but they are threatened by a
proposal for the largest open pit mine in at the headwaters of the Bay.

      About Our Work

The Eco-Justice Program is working with a diverse group of partners to
protect Bristol Bay and ensure the long term sustainability of the both
the Bay, subsistence hunting in native communities and commercial salmon
      fishing in the Bay.
