      MIRA GOLD KEY DINNER

The Reverend Demetrios Kavadas, a long time metro Detroit area Greek
Orthodox Priest, will be honored with the David J. Olen, M.D., "MAN OF THE
YEAR" award at the MIRA Gold Key Dinner on September 10, 2004.  Fr. Kavadas
is known for his deep commitment to MIRA's mission to educate and erase
destructive myths surrounding the stigma of mental illness, and is one of
      the founding members of MIRA.

MIRA (Mental Illness Research Association) is a Michigan based charity with
a mission of finding cures for brain related diseases and brain disorders
through funding research.  The group has funded over a million dollars to
brain research projects over the past 12 years.  MIRA also supports an
extensive education program in over 600 Michigan high schools that has
reached over 1,700 teachers, counselors and other educators impacting over
      240,000 students.

The Gold Key Dinner is MIRA's major annual fundraiser.  In addition to Fr.
Kavadas, MIRA and the University of Michigan Depression Center are honoring
Eric Adelson, Senior reporter, ESPN The Magazine, with the "MEDIA" award
for his work in helping audiences understand diseases of the brain.

"We will donate over $100,000 to brain research projects in Michigan before
the end of 2004", said Mary Jean Teachman, President of MIRA.  A good
portion of that funding comes from MIRA's Gold Key Event scheduled for
Friday night, September 10 at the Centerpoint Marriott Hotel on Opdyke Road
at the edge of Bloomfield Hills.  The reception begins at 6:30 p.m.
followed by dinner and an awards program.  The event will feature
entertainment by The Johnny Trudell Orchestra; Alto Reed  Saxophonist,
Silver Bullet Band; and, Elly Bennett, Vocalist.

Tickets for the Gold Key Event are $225 and available by writing the MIRA
office, 43494 Woodward Avenue, Bloomfield Hills, MI  48302, or for more
information contact the MIRA office at 248-338-1299.
