      On 27-30 December, Archbishop Abel along with Father Jaroslaw £o¶ and Father Jerzy £ukaszewicz visited the Patriarchate of Moscow. The character of the visit was private.

      During his stay, hierarch visited among other places monastery in Diedieniewie (Moscow region). During the visit Polish delegation was accompanied by the Bishop of Serpukhov Roman, dean of the monasteries of the Moscow metropolis with ihumenia Aleksandra (Balabanov) and senator of the Russian parliament Tiagaczjowa.

      In the monastery the Ordinary of Lublin-Che³m diocese had the opportunity to adore the relics of the holy nuns followers of Paraskeva (Matijeszynej), associated with a Polish monastery in Turkowice. The fruit of the visit was the Archbishop’s announcement of the of cordial cooperation between the two monasteries.

      During his stay in Russia, the hierarch of our Church visited also the Smolensk diocese Ordinary, Bishop Teofilakt. Conversation with him was an opportunity to reflect on the April presidential plane crash. Also the issue of Polish-Russian relations in the context of those events was raised.
