      Serbian church to celebrate 100 years

      CHISHOLM — Since the turn of the 19th century Eastern Orthodox immigrants have settled in the Range area. In 1908, a group of Serbian immigrants formed a St. Vasilije (Basil) Serbian Orthodox Church School Congregation and in 1910 built a Church in Chisholm. This year marks the 100th anniversary of the building of that church.

      A gala celebration will be held the weekend of July 17-18.

      Everyone is invited. The program is as followed:

      Saturday, July 17

      4:30 p.m. Greeting of the Bishop..

      5 p.m. Vesper service celebrants.

      6 to 8 p.m. Serbian delicatessen available at St. Basil Hall.

      6 p.m. to ? Music entertainment by the Do Zore Orchestra from Libertyville, Ill.

      Sunday, July 18

      9:30 a.m. Greeting of the Bishop by host priest Very Rev. Stavrophor Father Bogdan Zjalic and visiting clergy.

      10 a.m. Pontifical Divine Liturgy celebrants, His Grace, The Right Rev.Bishop Longin.

      Requiem (Parastos) service for all deceased parishioners.

      12:30 p.m. Banquet at St. Basil Hall with The Lord's Prayer by the St. George Choir of Duluth. A blessing by His Grace, The Right Rev. Bishop Longin.
