From: Mathaba - Libya/Religion/Europe
Muslims and Christians are building a humanitarian community together on the principles of law
Bahira (mathaba) - Bahamios, the Archbishop of Bahira, Matruh and North Africa sent a letter to Colonel Qadhafi in which he conveyed the agreement of the Coptic Orthodox Church headed by Papa Shounda III with the feelings of Qadhafi and people of Libya and all Muslims around the world.
These feelings are rejecting and condemning any religious extremism and insulting all religions under the pretext of freedom.
He emphasized the Coptic Orthodox Church assertion that those who insult Islam and Muslims are far away from the soul of Christianity.
He added that Muslims and Christians are building a humanitarian community together on the principles of law and connecting their people through brotherhood with reference to verses in the Holy Qu'ran.
He renewed the support of the church for the stand of Qadhafi in which he rejected religious extremism.
He concluded his letter by calling on Qadhafi for greater interaction and love and spreading peace and respect for human rights under his leadership.
