A noted Orthodox priest and scholar will speak 7 p.m. Tuesday in the MC Erny Gallery at WHQR, upstairs at 254 N. Front St.

The appearance by the Rev. Dr. Michael Oleksa is co-sponsored by St. Basil the Great Orthodox Church and St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church. Admission is free.
Oleksa was host of the PBS series "Communicating Across Cultures," and is the author of "Orthodox Alaska." A resident of Alaska, he will speak on the saints of North America.

A special feature of the evening, according to the Rev. Peter Robichau, will be the singing of an akathist (Orthodox hymn) and the veneration of relics of St. Elizabeth the New Martyr, an Orthodox nun who was killed by Russian Bolsheviks in 1918.– Ben Steelman
