      Christ is Risen!

The great feast of Pascha ushered in a period of great activity for the 3 parishes and convent in the Toronto area.

Fr. Parthenios of HTM was at the Convent of the Dormition of the Theotokos for Holy Week and as soon as he left, Metropolitan Moses and Elder Panteleimon arrived.  Mother Magdalene was tonsured a schema-nun by Fr. Panteleimon and on the Thursday after Thomas Sunday Metropolitan Moses gave a lecture entitled One Voice: Many Languages at the St. Nektarios Church Hall.  The lecture and long discussion lasted for 2 hours.

Meanwhile preparations were being made for a Yard Rummage Sale & Barbecue on the following Saturday at St. Nektarios.  Almost 50 people of all ages worked to make this event a success.  In just a few hours $5,000 was raised for the St. Nektarios Church Restoration Fund.  Everyone enjoyed the event and commented on the joyous spirit of all the workers.

Sunday was the feast of the Parish of St. Joseph of Arimathea, which celebrated its 20th anniversary.  Metropolitan Makarios and Metropolitan Moses served the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy.  The Church was filled to capacity and those who came late had to find a place in the Church hall and follow the Divine Liturgy on the monitor.  Later that evening, approximately 100 people attended a banquet to celebrate the 20th anniversary.
