OTTAWA (Reuters) - Controversial Canadian politician Svend
      Robinson
presented a petition in Parliament Tuesday asking that any
      reference to
God be struck from the federal Constitution.

``In a secular society which respects many different
      religious faiths
and those of no religious faith, is it appropriate to
      include God in the
constitution itself?'' asked Robinson, of the leftist New
      Democratic Party.

This suggestion was so outrageous, that many, if not most,
in the NDP, distanced themselves from Svend Robinson, (who
is openly homosexual), and the Leader Alexa McDonoungh,
      bounced
him to the back benches from his former front row. In
addition all the NDP party members interviewed, strongly
disagreed with Svend, and felt the action taken against
Svend, by his own party, was warranted. Now, while there is
cause to feel optimistic, one should understand, that the
removal of God from the constitution, would effectively,
remove the Queen, and the term "Regina", from the
constitution. This would cause severe repercussions in the
legal system, where, in the majority of criminal cases, it
      is Regina v. Defendant.
