ACLU National Field Organizer Barry Hargrove will offer winning tips and
strategies for influencing elected officials through grassroots organizing,
letter-writing, lobbying and the media. Representatives from several
co-sponsoring organizations will speak about particular aspects of lobbying
in Louisiana and identify priority issues which will be considered in the
2004 Louisiana Legislative Session.

These groups will discuss: How a bill becomes law in Louisiana, how to track
a bill on the website, testifying in committee, planning public education
events, organizing people to come to the Capitol, utilizing the media, how
to contact your legislator, sending faxes and letters, and more! Materials
will be available.
