Mile Square Park - Breaking News
- Jim Pike did not find every good bird in the park! Leo Ohtsuki spotted a Palm Warbler in the red flowering eucalyptus along Edinger Ave east of Ward Street.
Brian Leatherman, Leo and I looked for the Pine Warblers in the Canary Island Pines just south of exercise station 10. Some birds responded to my pishing including a dull Pine Warbler. It stayed in view very briefly and Brian L. and Leo never got on the bird.
We then moved on and tried for the Baltimore Oriole where we had the Western Tanager and the above mentioned Palm Warbler but no orioles. Near as I can figure, the birds recognize Jim's pishing and come to say hello to their friend that fights to protect trees from harm.
