Summer Tanager at Santiago Park
- Today (13 April), during a fairly brief early afternoon visit to Santiago Park (Santa Ana), had a Summer Tanager come in to pishing. A bit surprising because I had not been aware of any Summer Tanagers wintering in the park, despite fairly regular visits throughout the period. Spring migrant Summer Tanagers (especially along the coast) would not typically be expected until mid May or later. This was a female plumaged bird, which appeared in sycamores that line a trail behind (south of) the lawn bowling area. Otherwise, pretty quiet here as far as migrants go.
A photo or two will be posted to the Tanager folder.
