Doheney SB 4-01-07
- Sunday afternoon ~ 1:30P - Elegant Terns are back at the "lagoon" area
at the mouth of San Juan Creek at Doheney State Beach in Dana Point.
There were about 25 loafing on the sandbar in the middle of the lagoon
and some were fairly active displaying courtship behavior. Pretty cool
stuff Also nine Caspian Terns were present, one Royal Tern and a
single Bonaparte's Gull. I also scanned the harbor and short jetty,
and nothing remarkable was seen. Summer has arrived apparently,
because the beach and the harbor were bustling with people.
