      Johannes Mees
      Persons

It became to 15. May 1881 born and died on 10 April 1931. Johann Mees was a genuine Oppauer original. The old Oppauer called it only the "Meesehannes". About it many jokes and stories were told. The very most of it were however freely invented.

So also stories of the "Meesehannes" and that Mannheim original "Blumepeter", which are met surely never in their life.

The "Meesehannes" always worked at Oppauer farmers. It was industrious and made for nobody difficulties. But crude capers plotted a set of Oppauer master craftsmen again and again at their table reserved for regulars, with which they annoyed it.

It had become permanently ill in recent years by a brain skin inflammation. Today one was mentally handicapped to say. By the many narrations over it following history is however authentic with picture:

      Cow and apple mould
The Hannes served long time as a farmhand with farmer. Since the farmer was content with it, it wanted to make a joy for it. Hannes dealt gladly with horses and particularly hung on the farmer belonging an apple mould. "Hannes, heit middaach kummt EN photographer, makes e picture vun for you mit'm mould", said the farmer and the Hannes deseamed itself and the mould finely out.

It did not notice however that the Oppauer craftsman table reserved for regulars had invented again a caper. While the photographer adjusted it and the mould photo towards, the table reserved for regulars brothers drove a cow, which naturally came with auf's picture to the open stable door in the stable next door unnoticed. The ulterior motive thereby: most old Oppauer had its nickname, so also the Hannes: "Meesekuh" re-ringed it the children on the road and this admission should as postcard to it allude.

As one the Hannes the picture showed was so furious it over the fact that he tore up it and to the farmer the work quit.

Johann Mees was actively, so e.g. also in the Oppauer association life. in the Oppauer ring and lifting club 1900.
