Group Description
MISSION STATEMENT
Transition Olympia - Climate Action (TOCA) is the result of a merger of two local groups: Transition Olympia (TO) and Olympia Climate Action. It is a group of people in the Olympia, Washington area who are working to coordinate and strengthen community action in response to global Climate Change, Peak Oil, and Economic Contraction.
TO is an official Transition Initiative, one of over 100 in the US and 400 worldwide, designed "to unleash the collective genius" within adopting communities, in order to create locally-based, resilient solutions to the coming effects of these three threats. Our overarching goal is to plan for and create a resilient community that will thrive as the world becomes a very different place.
