Group Description

This group is being set up, so that there is a common place for interested parties, parties 'in the know', rescuers, dog lovers, activists to discuss what laws they believe should be enacted for the protection of any and all dogs in the state. This may, of course, depending on the concepts, include other companion animals, such as cats.

The discussion can include, of course, Ohio SB 95 about to pass the full Senate, we hope (at time of this writing) very soon...otherwise known as the Puppy Mill Bill.

But our cruelty laws are outdated, also. What DO dogs need in this state? And, related, what do rescuers need to keep helping the dogs?

We have no hoarding law. Do we need one? We have no rescue regulation (other than the 'puppy mill' bill). Do we need regulations?

I would like to keep members to those who:
Actually on a day to day basis have foster dogs in their homes (owner turn-in's OTI's, pound dogs, and mill release dogs) or at least are involved in the day to day operation and decision making,of a rescue.

I would also like to keep members to those who live in Ohio, or in a neighboring state WITH a 'puppy mill' bill. I believe PA and IN now have such laws.

Membership will be screened, only for assuring we have rescuers and Ohioans or people in states with pm laws now. (so please for sake of time, tell us when you click to join!)

Messages will not be moderated. Messages are not to be taken off the group. This is a discussion among interested parties, only.

DO BE AWARE THAT even though the rule is that messages aren't to be taken off the list, they probably will be. So PLEASE do not suggest any illegal acts or make any threats of violence.
