Families & Friends of Occoquan District Scouting,
We are entering the final days of the District's 2011 FOS Campaign. As of last Thursday (28th) our total stands at #37,182(about $6K more than last month but about $1,600 behind last year's total at this point). We are at about 74% of where we want to be at the end of the campaign. Bottom line is we are a little behind the power curve.
One statistic stood out when I was analyzing the campaign results: we have 249 contributors so far this year as compared to last year's total of 469. What this is telling me is that our support base this year is slightly more than half what is was last year.
Also, we have a number of units which have turned in no contributions although they received their FFOS presentation some time ago. If they had matched last year's contributions, we would be $5,125 closer to success.
I know times are tough with the price of everything rising; especially at the gas pump but it is times like these when we need to evaluate what is important in our lives and set priorities. If you believe in ths values and ideals of the Scouting program but have not yet made a contribution to the FFOS campaign, NOW IS THE TIME TO DO SO! Even modest levels of support are important. If all you can spare is $10, $20 or $50, don't feel this amount could not make a difference. It can!
Here is what the leader board looks like as of the 24th.
Highest Amount Collected
T35 ($5,996) Back in the lead!
Highest Per Youth (May change with new membership numbers)
C1396 ($169.29) Still on top
Highest % Family Support (May change with new membership numbers)
T1149 (100%) Amazing recovery!
Greatest Amount Increase Over 2010
T857 (+$1,315) Still #1!
Greatest % Increase Over 2010
P289 (1,622%) Untouchable!
District % Family Support = 15% (2009 = 22%, 2010 = 31%, 2011 goal = 40%) Ouch, we have work to do here!
There are nine units who have NOT yet scheduled a FFOS presentation:
Packs 292 and 689
Troops 74, 1352, and 1420
Crews 43, 295, 1919
If your unit would like a FFOS presentation, please let Bill Evans (wmcevans@...
) know and he will get you scheduled and supported.
We still have a good ways to go before we declare victory. The support from all units and their Scouting families is still needed. I ENCOURAGE EVERYONE TO CONTINUE TO "DO YOUR BEST".
Thank you for your continued support of Scouting in the district.
Yours in Scouting,
2011 FFOS Campaign District Coordinator
