      Youre invited to:
      HEALTHY BODY / HEALTHY PLANET
GET ON A LOW CARBON DIET
MAKE AN IMPACT ON YOUR BODY AND ON GLOBAL WARMING

      Sunday November 16, 2008 at 4:30 pm 6:00 pm
Unity Temple, 875 Lake Street, Oak Park, IL

Time to consider some fundamental changes in your life? Time to think more globally, and act locally! Eat your way to better health AND reduce your carbon footprint.
Scientists overwhelmingly agree that human activity is warming the earth. Heat is being trapped in a layer of greenhouse gases, including carbon dioxide, produced by the fossil fuels we use, including those fuels we use to grow and transport our food to market. How much carbon footprint is in the food you eat? Come on November 16th and find out. Learn how to choose food that protects the environment and:
       feed children successfully
       create menus with variety
       get enough protein
       address gluten-intolerant diets
       eat organically and inexpensively.

Please come on November 16th, 2008 and hear Jill Ovnik speak about eating better and reducing your carbon footprint. A mother of three, Ms. Ovnik is a certified food educator from the Food Studies Institute, has taught the award-winning curriculum Food is Elementary, is President and Founder of www.Vegan-Gal.com, an educational, informative website with free recipes and a free monthly e-newsletter to inspire healthy eating. Ovnik has written and produced an eighty minute DVD Change Your Food, Change Your Life - which is available at Amazon.com, Netflix.com and Vegan-Gal.com. Ovnik is a Culinary Instructor at The Cancer Project, Washington, DC (www.cancerproject.org), a Healthy Heart Speaker for the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, and a Regional Director for CHIP, (the Coronary Health Improvement Project). With education and exposure to great food, health can be greatly improved and lives may be changed!, she says.
Healthy snacks will be provided. $5 donation suggested. Please come and invite friends, coworkers, neighbors and family members people you want as partners in making a difference.
