Hear the International Solidarity Movement activist who was shot in the face by Israeli Occupation Forces in Palestine while working as a human rights monitor.

Brian Avery (a former Chicagoan) lived in Jenin for four months and worked in support of Palestinian self-determination in the occupied territories. His work with the International Solidarity Movement (www.palsolidarity.org) often brought him into dangerous situations as he stood in solidarity with the people of Palestine. He acted as a human rights monitor, documenting human rights abuses. His witness was often enough to stop the worst of violations. On April 5, the day before he was to leave Palestine and return home, he went to investigate some machine gun fire when an Israeli armored personnel carrier (paid for with our U.S. tax dollars) turned a corner in Jenin. Despite having his hands in the air, Brian was shot in the face by Israeli Occupation Forces. Three operations later for facial reconstruction, Brian continues his support of Palestinian self-determination with a speaking tour. Please join us to support Brian and learn firsthand the situation on the ground in Occupied Palestine.
