15517Tess A Thon Sunday
- May 1, 2014
A special benefit for Nyack's own, Tess Durand,"Tess A Thon" will be held at Pour House this Sunday, 4PM until ? Until all the performance's end.
Many more musicians to play now than mentioned, ending the night with recording artist, composer David Budway, recorded and performed with the likes of Branford Marsalis to Liza Minnelli, The Cotton Club to Carnegie Hall.
He brings the fun with his passion also for the Beatles to the Grateful Dead. You never know what your gonna get. Do not miss this.
Extensive buffet provided by Pour House, along with raffles from local merchants and others.
You may remember Tess as the wonderful, petite girl who worked for so many years at
Back to Earth (now Sweet Pea's) the health food Store on Main and Broadway. You may also know her as the drummer from "Rouge Neck", the mostly Hank Williams music colorfully tweaked by Tess's boyfriend, Harry Leavey, lead singer and guitarist.
How ever you know her, Tess was diagnosed with breast cancer at the young age of 35. Diagnosed while moving back to Nyack before she found employment and without insurance. Tess has been getting extensive treatment for months now with improvement and her beautiful smiling face will be there. She may even join in on the music.
Greeted always by Tess with a warm, welcoming smile, let's all meet
Nyack's sister with the same warmth, support and generosity of spirit this Sunday.
"Suggested" donation only of $20, which is worth just the food alone. Pour House has been promoting their new menu by Spike TV's "Bar Makeover" Celebrity Chef Brian Duffy.
The buffet should be outstanding.
Looking forward to seeing the community come out to show support and encouragement for our dear friend.
