Chip Pitts:International attorney, investor/entrepreneur, and law educator. Chairman of Amnesty International USA, where he has worked especially on international dimensions international issues involving recent encroachments on freedom in connection with the U.S.-led "war on terror." Lecturer in law at Stanford University Law School, and has taught at other law schools and universities. Frequent speaker and contributor to journals, magazines and newspapers on human rights, globalization and foreign affairs.
Henry Precht:Director of the State Departments Iran Desk 1978-81, during the Islamic Revolution and Hostage Crisis. Earlier Foreign Service posts included Rome, Alexandria (Egypt), the Arab-Israeli Desk at State Department, and 4 years as Political/Military Counselor, Tehran. Appointed Ambassador to Mauritania, but his confirmation blocked by a powerful senator. Deputy Ambassador in Cairo, Egypt. Authored many talks and writings, including the book A Diplomats Progress.
Edward Thomas:Retired Foreign Service Officer with Iran specialization. Vice Consul, Tabriz, Iran, 1957-59: Consul, Mashhad, Iran, 1959-62. Peace Corps Country Director, Iran, 1974-75. Post-graduate Middle East Studies at Columbia and Princeton. Executive Director, Moroccan-American Fulbright Commission, 1985-95. Fulbright Lecturer in Uzbekistan, 1999-2000. Currently SMU Continuing Education instructor.
