Master’s Degree in Community Development and Planning

offers $40,000 Scholarship to AmeriCorps/Peace Corps Alumni

      February 2, 2006

      Dear AmeriCorps/Peace Corps Alum,

Clark University’s exciting Community Development and Planning (CDP) master’s degree program, and the Department of International Development, Community and Environment (IDCE) offers AmeriCorps and Peace Corps Alumni a valuable scholarship opportunity.

At least one tuition-free scholarship is awarded to an AmeriCorps and Peace Corps alum accepted into IDCE’s Community Development and Planning master’s degree program.  (Worth $40,000) IDCE also matches the education award of every AmeriCorps alumni who enrolls.

The CDP program offers core courses and hands-on skill development in:

community development and planning theory finance, nonprofit management,

Geographic Information Systems (GIS), grass-roots community organizing

The CDP program provides current and up-and-coming community development practitioners with a strong foundation—based on theory, skill development, and practice—to take on the challenges of urban neighborhood revitalization in the United States. Through course work, field work and internships, the CDP program enables students to better understand the complex linkages between local action and the processes of policymaking at local, state, and national levels.

For more information, please take a moment to review our CDP program brochure.
