Group Description

Probably one of the most interesting aspects of railways and the hardest areas to find information on, is the area of Maintence-of-Way equipment. Known as MOW, M-O-W, work equipment or non revenue equipment, this equipment is the backbone of all railways. Without it, trains don't run.

Typical M-O-W equipment include snow plows, Jordan spreaders, cranes, rustic downgraded passenger and freight equipment. Today's M-O-W equipment include specialized laser rail alignment machines, tampers, ballast cleaners and many other pieces to numerous too mention here.

The purpose of this list is to bring together people who have an interest in this equipment past, present and future.

If you have an interest in M-O-W equipment, this is probably the list for you!!
