Subject: An Opportunity to host an AFS High School Foreign Exchange Student

Hi there Peace Corps Volunteers of Northern
      California,

This last year we had a fabulous Peace Corps
volunteer in the San Francisco Bay Area host a high school student from
Thailand for the year.  With a similar mentality of wanting to improve
understanding of different cultures, we are hoping that you all might be
interested in helping us find host families for our incoming students for
the 2013-2014 school year.  AFS Intercultural Programs is the oldest
High School Exchange Program in the world with the mission to work toward
a more just and peaceful world by providing international and Intercultural
learning experiences to individuals, families, schools, and communities
      through a global volunteer partnership.

We are looking for host families interested
in hosting a foreign exchange student either for a semester or 10 months.
Attached you will find the bios of both our Sponsored Programs Students
(these are students who are selected by the State Department to come on
a Full Ride Scholarships from Primarily Muslim populated countries. You
can find out more information about this program by visiting this link)
      and our core students.

Please let me know if you or anyone in your
community might be open to learning more about hosting an AFS exchange
student.  A great place to start find out more is by visiting our
Frequently Asked Questions page, which can be accessed here.

Thank you so very much for considering this
opportunity and I look forward to hearing from you,
