In late February, the Girl Scouts commemorate World Thinking Day, when
they are encouraged to learn about other cultures. I have received RPCV
speaker requests from Girl Scout troops in San Mateo, Concord, Walnut
Creek (2), Livermore and San Francisco (4) - details below.
Please let me know if you can fill these specific requests. Email me at
with Girl Scouts in the subject line. A
similar request in the Sacramento area has generated a ton of RPCV
response, which is a happy problem, so I'll probably try to match these
Bay Area troops with female RPCVs who live nearby.
If you live elsewhere and are wondering where to present for Peace Corps
Week, keep the Girl Scouts in mind. To connect with a local troop, send
me your Name, City, Zip Code and Email address by Jan. 21. The local
Girl Scouts Council will help me try to find a troop for you. Keep in
mind that troops meet in the early afternoon on weekdays and we may not
find a troop for everyone.
For all presentations, Peace Corps suggests you register by Feb. 3 at
www.peacecorps.gov/pcweek to receive your packet of PC Week materials in
time. More PC Week notices soon! [Including a great park cleanup
project in Martinez on March 1st - details soon]
