Volunteer opportunity for Cal Alumni
- Cal Corps < http://calcorps.berkeley.edu>, the public service center on the Cal campus, is proud to announce its newest project, the Cal Public Interest Program (CPIP). We hope you will consider volunteering your time to foster a sense of commitment to the public good in these undergraduate interns.
Cal Corps (until 1989 known as the Community Projects Office) seeks to draw on its 40-year history to connect passionate alumni who have experience working for the public good with enthusiastic and committed undergraduates. Whether you have 2 hours per year to address a group of undergraduates at a panel discussion or 5 hours per week and desire a leadership role recruiting fellow alumni or public interest agencies to host Cal interns, Cal Corps has a need for alumni seeking to reconnect (or connect in a new way) with Cal.
A collaboration with the California Alumni Association and Career Center, CPIP provides alumni with the opportunity to engage with current students or recent graduates and share your knowledge and experience with interested young persons. The program also allows alumni to participate in a community of Cal graduates working for social justice.
Like other alumni-supported public interest summer internship programs across the country, CPIP seeks to match current undergraduates with both paid summer internships in the Bay Area and Los Angeles and alumni advisors who can offer guidance as these students begin their professional journeys in the public interest sector.
