Temporary Regional Recruiter
Regional Recruiters serve as point persons for building awareness of all Peace Corps programs.
The incumbent recruits qualified applicants for Volunteer service in the Peace Corps and builds awareness of all Peace Corps programs. Gathers information pertinent to planned campaigns and determines skills to be sought. Assists in planning and arranging media support and publicity. Makes travel accommodations and logistical arrangements. Contacts community, professional and academic resource people and organizations. Arranges public speaking engagements and audio-visual presentations. Determines and secures materials and equipment necessary for campaigns. Makes oral and audio-visual presentations to classes, organizations, etc. about current Peace Corps needs and policies both in the community and on campus.
In order to be selected for this position, the applicant must be a U.S. citizen, must not have been employed in intelligence-related activities, and must submit a resume which clearly documents how they meet each of the following mandatory requirements:
Applicants must have at least (1) two years of experience as a Peace Corps Volunteer (or otherwise satisfactory COS) and (2) the desire to recruit Peace Corps Volunteers. Successful Peace Corps Volunteer service meets this requirement. Applicants also must be available to work weekends.
The following qualifications are not mandatory for selection to this position. However, highly competitive applicants will have experience and/or education in all or most of the following:
interpersonal skills necessary to developing professional relationships with academic officials, the media, and community representatives; (2) the ability to communicate in a concise and articulate manner as required for public speaking, media engagements, and personal interviews; and (3) working knowledge of computers and familiarity with the internet.
At Foreign Pay Grade 7, step 1, approximately $40,160 per year. Duration of Employment -- from September 5, 2006
for approximately 110 days, not to exceed December 22, 2006.
