      Job Announcement for Administrative Manager

      Interactive Parenting Media is seeking a well-organized and enthusiastic Administrative Manager. We are a nonprofit organization near Jack London Square in Oakland. We produce two call-in radio shows for parents and all who care about children. Childhood Matters is in English and Nuestros Ni�os is in Spanish. We have approximately 50,000 listeners every Sunday in the Bay Area and Monterey County. The Administrative Manager is responsible for the ongoing management of all the administrative, operations and human resources functions of the agency.

      MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
      -Coordinate all office functions, including supervising staff on administrative tasks and grant tracking and reporting.
      -Develop, implement and administer HR systems, policies and procedures.
      -Oversee operations, including office expansion.

      Responsibilities include:
      Administration
      -Implement, update & improve office systems to ensure smooth running of the organization.
      -Supervise staff in administrative areas.
      -Manage contracts with consultants and other vendors (including internet service, phones, etc.).
      -Insurance � research & update policies as needed.
      -Approve and track day-to-day expenditures within authority.

      Human Resources
      -Develop and maintain procedures and compliance systems in keeping with employment laws & regulations.
      -Coordinate staff recruitment, hiring, and orientation.
      -Administer all benefits programs.
      -Recommend additions and improvements to existing benefits.
      -Maintain and update Employee Handbook in accordance with employment law/policy changes.
      -Maintain personnel records and files.

      Operations
      -Manage day-to-day office operations, including:
      -Interface with landlord.
      -Oversee future equipment purchases and construction projects.
      -Facilitate repair and smooth functioning of equipment and computers (not IT).

      Other
      -Manage contracts and grants, working closely with the Director of Development.

      Qualifications:
      -Nonprofit management experience.
      -Supervision experience.
      -Ability to create solutions to problems and make system improvements.
      -Sound understanding of HR practices, principles and regulations.
      -Excellent oral and written communication skills.
      -Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
      -Working knowledge of PC computers.
      -Good sense of humor.

      Competitive salary, depending on experience.
