Red Cross needs RPCVs
- Do you have some down time? Are you in a networking phase? Perhaps
you're recently returned or retired and looking for something
interesting to do?
The Red Cross, a haven for fellow RPCVs, is looking for you! Our
"Prepare Bay Area" disaster preparedness initiative seeks to notify 1
million Bay Area Residents about how to prepare for an unexpected
catastrophe, such as Katrina. We need volunteers with people skills to
spend a few hours each week to contact businesses and community
organizations and encourage them to take advantage of our free
disaster preparedness training.
Only 2-4 hours a week (no maximum). Private, quiet office space
available if you need it! Ability to work from home!
The Red Cross is a welcoming, low key environment. We treasure
volunteers. And when we need fulltime staff, our volunteer staff is
the first place we look for qualified candidates.
The Red Cross appreciates the cross cultural experiences that RPCVs
can bring to the table. We are seeking to make inroads into all the
Bay Area's ethnic communities. Can you help? Just give Sandi, RPCV
Ethiopia, 415-427-8155, swiderskis@...; or Heather, RPCV
Nepal, 415-427-8153 merriamh@... a call!
Do you have 15 minutes? You can take our personal disaster
preparedness on line training right now! Go to
