    Hello, everyone.

This year, the National Peace Academy is holding its third Peacebuilding Peacelearning Intensive (PPI) at Wilmington College in Wilmington, Ohio, June 16-22.

Over a hundred people from communities all over the United States and around the world have attended previous PPIs and returned home to make a difference. Included were folks from current and former Peace Corps countries in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. Among them was, quite by happenstance, a former student of mine from my PC service at Ondo Boys’ High School in Nigeria in the 1960s! What an unexpected reunion that was! And what a joy for me to see other Nigerians in attendance at previous PPIs, as well.

National Peace Academy’s weeklong Peacebuilding Peacelearning Intensive (PPI) will equip you with the knowledge, tools and skills to nurture change in yourself and in your community. See the flyer attached.

Bring your vision of change to the Intensive, and experts in peacebuilding will work with you to hone in on how you will bring your vision to fruition.  You will leave the PPI with a plan for implementing your own project proposal in  your own community, workplace, or home.

PPI is a residential learning experience.  Some elements of the week-long intensive may seem similar to a conference:  interesting presentations sharing key elements of peacebuilding; practical, experiential workshops growing your personal toolbox of skills and capacities; and opportunities for networking. Yet PPI is designed to take you further.  PPI will enable you to immediately apply new skills and ideas in positive ways in your own life and community.

For more details about PPI 2013, including registration information and reports and testimonials from past PPIs, click here.

Space is limited, and March 28 is the deadline for the Early Bird discount. So, make your plans now to attend PPI 2013, and please share this opportunity with others you think will benefit from this unique peacebuilding peacelearning experience – possibly even folks from your own country of service.

    In peace,

    Mike
