On Monday night, the Commonwealth Club presented "Ethical Destinations: Vote with your Wings". Jeff Greenwald, Executive Director of Ethical Traveler, and Malia Everette, Founder of Atruvistas and Director of Global Exchange Reality Tours, named the 2013 winners of the World's 10 Best Ethical Destinations that they hope people will visit and support these economies. The categories for which the countries are evaluated are: Environmental Protection, Social Welfare, and Human Rights.
It was interesting to note that ALL OF THEM are Peace Corps countries, so I was not surprised to see a number of RPCVs in the audience. The countries are in alphabetical order:
- Cape Verde
- Costa Rica
