      Those of us who attended the Annual General Meeting in January 2012 heard
      from PCVs of Ghana One, the first group of Peace Corps Volunteers to go to
      Ghana in 1961. As part of their training, a psychologist, Brewster Smith,
      was assigned to determine their readiness for service and follow their
      experiences. Dr. Smith became a great personal friend to many of those
      early volunteers.

      Dr. Smith eventually became a distinguished Professor of Psychology at UC
      Santa Cruz. He passed away August 4, 2012 at the age of 93.
