Hello Fellow RPCVs,
First of all, Jayma thanks for the work you are doing for this organization. Now I humbly request some additional work from you. I have forwarded this message to SF, Northbay, and NorCal lists but not of the other area specific groups because I am not subscribed to those lists. I hope you could at a minimum forward it to the East Bay list.
As I have done for the last 8 years, I am hereby again announcing the request for applicants for Rotary District’s 5150’s Group Study Exchange (GSE) team. As I have mentioned in the past and now more than a handful of RPCVs, who have gone on GSE trips, can confirm, the GSE program is a great opportunity at virtually no cost to you other than your time. Read the following to get a better idea.
GROUP STUDY EXCHANGE
(District 4590 – Southeastern Brazil including Campinas )
MAY 14 – JUNE 11, 2011
WHAT IS GROUP STUDY EXCHANGE?
This program is a unique exchange opportunity for team members to experience the host country’s culture and institutions, observe how their vocations are practiced abroad, develop personal and professional relationships, and exchange ideas. “GSE” promotes goodwill, international understanding, and professional knowledge.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Professionals between ages 25 and 40 who; work or live in the San Mateo, SF or Marin counties, are U.S. citizens, gainfully employed in a recognized profession for at least two years, and not directly related to a Rotarian. We seek personable, articulate, cooperative, motivated team players who can adhere to a demanding four week schedule. Fluency in Portuguese is not required.
NOTE: If you do not live or work in the listed areas, give me (Erik Scheller) a call and I can probably get you in touch with the GSE coordinator in your area. I believe all the adjoining Rotary Districts participate in the GSE program. Granted the location and timing will be different.
TRAVEL, MEALS AND LODGING ARE COVERED BY THE ROTARY FOUNDATION
