Emotional Intelligence (EQ) is the ability to manage our relationships and ourselves effectively; especially when things are tense or we are in conflict. Current research shows that the more Emotionally Intelligent one is, the more likely they are to receive greater merit increases and hold higher positions within a company than their counterparts. They also receive higher peer and/or supervisor ratings of interpersonal skills and stress tolerance. The evidence is strong that there is a significant relationship between EQ and workplace performance. The more highly placed in an organization an individual is, the more important Emotional Intelligence becomes. Studies show that 85 percent of the effectiveness of star performers is linked to their possessing a high degree of Emotional Intelligence.  People with strong EQ skills are more adept at influencing from any part within an organization.

One of the best things about EQ is that unlike IQ, EQ can be taught. EQ is a practice – a bit like lifting weights and gaining muscle. Except here, one is retraining the limbic system, increasing their ability to effectively communicate, influence and lead.  Emotional Intelligence helps shift stuck relationships; whether those are in or outside of the workplace.

The skills and tools learned in this training can be immediately applied in both work and personal arenas. This workshop will use an interactive approach, one-on-one coaching, and real-time application of learning (e.g., applying skills to work-related issues). Participants are actively engaged in the learning process through experiential activities that are both insightful and fun.
