Dear colleague servants of Sustainable Transportation,

With great interest I have read the announcement of the meeting in Paris of
the Shell Foundation for Sustainable Transportation.

As a major employer throughout the world Shell should give an example to
other employers in dealing with transportation issues for the company itself
      and for its employees.

The Shell site in Pernis, in the greater Rotterdam harbour area, sets this
      example.

Since many years the Royal Dutch Shell Refineries has played an active role
in the commute transportation of the employees, providing personnel
      transportation with buses.

In 1998 Shell Pernis modified its policy and with the help of Vipre B.V. the
Mobility Company in Rotterdam, Shell Pernis started a Vanpool-program. Today
13 Vans with approximately 90 Shell employees are in service. Apart from
this Vanpool program Shell Pernis also offers its employees the possibility
of using Shell provided company-bicycles to do their daily commute.

This of course contributes to a cleaner and safer environment and also saves
a lot of our precious energy. Compare the 13 Vans with 90 private cars based
on CO2 and NOX emission !!

Shell Pernis also plays an important role as ambassador of the policy to
stimulate collective transportation in general, in order to contribute to a
      cleaner environment and Sustainable Transportation.

At the initiative of Shell Pernis the Foundation Accessibility Rotterdam was
established in 1996 in order to convince other employers in the Rotterdam
area to take the appropriate measures to stimulate the use of alternatives
for Single Occupied Vehicles, such as personnel bus systems, carpools,
      bicycles and Vanpools.

Shell Pernis and Vipre B.V. have been partners in order to create
Sustainable Transportation in the Rotterdam area since 1996.

For further information you can contact Shell Pernis :
