I heartily agree with your comment about the company one keeps! Many events
have been fun because of the fellas...and others made much better because of
the fellas. Gates of Washington last summer is a good example. The event was
a good one. The Co I boys under Bill Watson made for a great weekend. (Just
ask Frank "Hiram walker" Lilley...)

I certainly agree with the comments about Templeton. As far as I
know, Co. K was the first Union unit to give up on tent city at that
event and try to find their own progressive experience away from the
mainstream. We camped up in the woods near the battlefield area.
The first year that we did that (with only a shebang) we awoke to
snow. That was certainly different. What we learned from that was
that the event is less important than the company with which you
