Kanesatake Mohawk Police Commission - Press Release

KANEHSATA:KE MOHAWK TERRITORY, April 13 /CNW Telbec/ - The Kanehsatake Mohawk Police Commission is publically urging James Gabriel to take up the Assembly of First Nations offer of mediation for the dispute over policing in Kanehsatake. Despite rumors to the contrary, there are no police currently patrolling the territory, since constable Melissa Montour was suspended last weekend. In the interest of community members safety and security, the KMPC also urges James Gabriel to formally invite the Kahnawake Peacekeepers to resume policing KanehsatĂ :ke until this ongoing policing dispute is settled.
