      Job Posting: Band Administrator

      The Employer:

      High Bar First Nation, is a small Indian Band with total membership of 65 in a small Community of Clinton, B.C. High Bar First Nations has much potential to be a progressive First Nations Community.

      The Position:

      The Administrator is responsible to the Band Council for the efficient and effective operation of the High Bar First Nation. The incumbent is responsible for all aspects of marketing/business plans, financial management, funding, delivery, evaluation, staffing. The incumbent defines his/her own work assignments within broad guidelines. The job requires the Administrator to exercise a high degree of ingenuity and independent judgment in order to handle work situations that are not covered by the band established rules, policies or procedures. S/he has a high degree of public contact — including other agencies and the general public. Under the overall direction of Chief and Council, the Administrator will coordinate, administer and provide leadership for all of the High Bar First Nation programs and projects.

      Minimum Requirements:

      § Degree or Diploma in Business Administration or equivalent experience

      § Some post-secondary education in Human Services and Educational Services

      § Three to five years experience working with First Nations or Aboriginal Org.

      § Experience in band management, business administration, project management

      § Knowledge of INAC - Additions to Reserve, Post Secondary, Economic Development, etc.

      § Financial and Accounting management experience

      § Knowledge of Word 2003, Excel , Windows XP, Simply Accounting
