Subject: Call for Applicants - MOA Native Youth Program 2014

The MOA Native Youth Program is now accepting for applications for Summer 2014. The program runs from July 7 - August 22 at the UBC Museum of Anthropology.

The Native Youth Program is a collaborative work-study program. It provides Indigenous students with an opportunity to learn about traditional and contemporary Northwest Coast cultures from their own experiences and research, and from local First Nations guest speakers. They will also learn about the resources at the First Nations House of Learning and MOA, and develop skills in public presentations using objects and visual aids at the museum. Participants will share this knowledge with other students and museum visitors through guided tours and presentations. Students are expected to study, write reports, and participate in study trips.

Successful applicants must be 15 to 18 years old, enrolled in high school, and must have an interest in First Nations culture.

APPLICATION DEADLINE: Friday June 13, 2014
