As the creator of the Spanish Ulcer scenarios I appreciate knowing people are enjoying them. Currently working on a BIG AoE scenario book, currently have finished Jena, Auerstadt, Aspern-Essling, Bautzen, and Waterloo. Already doing revision to Eylau and Friedland, and working on the 1809 campaign.

No this will not be a commercial book like "Napoleon vs Europe" &
"AoH" were. I don't have any deal or business arrangement with Col. Grey, (having no legal knowledge I'm just assuming I would be sued trying to charge people, and I don't need any more problems). This is just me using mainly George Nafziger books & documents, and sources I've managed to find at Chicago's Pritzker Military Library. I try very hard to do the best I can to make these scenarios accurate but even I don't believe they're perfect. It will just be a large collection of word files similar to the Eylau and reworked Talavera scenario and put in the Files section of this group for everyone to enjoy for free. I hope to have the whole collection done by the end of January.

As to putting down strength breakdowns, I don't see that very likely putting these scenarios together are pretty lengthy given my very basic design skills, to add that would most likely push my patience over the edge.

FWIW, I plan on doing Age of Valor (covering the Crimea thru the RJW) and one more scenario book before I retire. The latter will be Rule Britannia, covering the Napoleonic battles where the British army was present, beginning with Tourcoing.

There will be an option for the infantry. The first is the AOE mounting scheme, the second is a base 1 inch wide by 3/4 inch deep with three (or four) figures in an irregular line.
This period of history saw infantry formations that were far more . . . fluid . . . than in the past. Most countries had already gone to a two rank formation anyway, but this is then modified by the number of companies deployed forward to augment the initial skirmish line and the distance between them. Its not nearly so set in stone as were the more regulated lines and columns of the Napoleonic era (which were actually more flexible than we normally give them credit for).

This will be an AOE expansion. Mounting for the cavalry, leaders and
artillery will be the same as AOE.
There will be an option for the infantry. The first is the AOE mounting
scheme, the second is a base 1 inch wide by 3/4 inch deep with three (or
four) figures in an irregular line.
This period of history saw infantry formations that were far more . . .
fluid . . . than in the past. Most countries had already gone to a two rank
formation anyway, but this is then modified by the number of companies
deployed forward to augment the initial skirmish line and the distance
between them. Its not nearly so set in stone as were the more regulated
lines and columns of the Napoleonic era (which were actually more flexible
than we normally give them credit for).

                        Warmest regards,

The depth of base is ideal when used to represent larger formations
requiring deployment space when deployed in depth. It's never something I
worried about on the grand scale. Of course if using 1 to 20 ratio the
problem isnt as great but the amount of lead required is!

Alas, base depth has seldom been one of the more accurate aspects of this
                            hobby.

                            Warmest regards,

I use that size base for my Napoleonic Brits & Portuguese as I feel the shallower depth is more in keeping with a 2 rank line. No major issues, although the bases of some figures can be a tight fit when using 4 to a base. Just an observation that I hope will be of use.

The depth of base is ideal when used to represent larger formations
requiring deployment space when deployed in depth. It's never something I
worried about on the grand scale. Of course if using 1 to 20 ratio the
problem isnt as great but the amount of lead required is!

Alas, base depth has seldom been one of the more accurate aspects of this
                              hobby.

I m likely going to use the 1 x 3/4 inch basing with 3 figs. The 48 mm figures masquerading as 15 s are the reason why. Warmest regards, /// BILL /// Wilbur E

                                Hi Bill

I use that size base for my Napoleonic Brits & Portuguese as I feel the shallower depth is more in keeping with a 2 rank line. No major issues, although the bases of some figures can be a tight fit when using 4 to a base. Just an observation that I hope will be of use.

                                kind regards

                                Iain

The depth of base is ideal when used to represent larger formations

requiring deployment space when deployed in depth. It's never something I

worried about on the grand scale. Of course if using 1 to 20 ratio the

problem isnt as great but the amount of lead required is!

Alas, base depth has seldom been one of the more accurate aspects of this

I'm likely going to use the 1 x 3/4 inch basing with 3 figs. The 48 mm
figures masquerading as 15's are the reason why.

                                  Warmest regards,

                                  Hi Bill

I use that size base for my Napoleonic Brits & Portuguese as I feel the
shallower depth is more in keeping with a 2 rank line. No major issues,
although the bases of some figures can be a tight fit when using 4 to a
base. Just an observation that I hope will be of use.

                                  kind regards

                                  Iain

The depth of base is ideal when used to represent larger formations

requiring deployment space when deployed in depth. It's never something I

worried about on the grand scale. Of course if using 1 to 20 ratio the

problem isnt as great but the amount of lead required is!

                                    kind regards

Indeed but since the rules dont specify metric because of the Americans inability to count past 20 (hands and feet permitting) I left it in Imperial measures !
