Winter Solstice Yoga and Hiking Day

      Saturday December 22, 2007

      9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

With Ellen Shapiro and Joey Doherty

Would you like to slow down and fully enjoy North Florida 's beauty this holiday season? Give yourself the gift of time to be present to breath, beauty, your body and the amazing local outdoors. Experience nature in a new way, through mindfulness practices including guided meditative walking, gentle yoga stretches, and breathing exercises.  Become refreshed and revitalized as you effortlessly open to and integrate your internal and external worlds. The day will include a meditative hike (approximately 5 miles – flat terrain) with integrated periods of yoga, compassion exercises, and intentional silence.  Guaranteed to increase feelings of calmness, serenity, vitality, and joie de vivre!

The program will begin at 8:30 a.m. and run until approximately 2:00 pm.  We will meet at the Namaste Yoga Center and car pool to the hike site.  The program will conclude at the hike site approximately 20 minutes from town, and then we will carpool back to NYC.

Please bring:  Comfortable walking shoes, backpack, sunglasses, sunscreen, comfortable clothing and layers if it is cold, water bottle, rain gear if needed, and a packed lunch that does not need refrigeration.

Cost: $45 for adults, $25 for ages 12-21.  No previous yoga or hiking experience necessary.

Pre-registration strongly encouraged.  Send a check for $45 to Ellen Shapiro, 922 East Lafayette St, Suite 1 , Tall, FL, 32301.  Please call or email Ellen at ellsha@... or 222-0003 to reserve your place.
