      I'm off in the middle of nowhere, near a small town called
      Hope, New Jersey, way out near the Pennsylvania border, for an
      Isralight Retreat. This is incredible program focuses on the
      spiritual elements of Judaism and creates an experience that reveals
      the beauty of our religion. Of course music is a huge component of
      that and I'm here with my guitar, etc. For all those who couldn't
      make it here, don't worry: Isralight's next retreat is in Orlando,
      Florida during the second week of February. But they also have a
      program every week in Manhattan on Tuesday nights -- see below for

      plenty of music in New York this weekend:

      Tonight, Thursday November 8 at 8PM, Simply Tsfat is playing
      at the Hebrew Institute of Riverdale, 3700 Henry Hudson Pkwy. For

      Also 11/8 at 8:30 PM Andy Statman is playing his
      weekly "Music of the Mystics" at the Greenwich Village Synagogue,
      featuring Chassidic, klezmer and original tunes, with Andy on the

      Friday Night November 9 the Jewish Center is having a Young
      Leadership Tisch with lots of spirited singing. The shul is located

      Also 11/9 at 8:15 PM if you're in Long Island for Shabbos,
      Congregation Aish Kodesh has their fourth annual tisch at the Young
      Israel of Lawrence Cedarhurst, located at the corner of Spruce and
      Broadway in Cedarhurst. There's sure to be some inspiring singing

      Saturday, November 10 the Upreach Minyan is meeting again at
      Congregation Ohab Zedek, 118 W 95 St. Regardless of your age,
      religious background, or marital status this is for all who are
      looking to have a meaningful prayer experience with singing and a few
      explanations along the way. Davening begins 9:30 AM and finishes

      Also 11/10 at 8:30 PM Simply Tsfat is playing at Congregation
      Ohab Zedek, 118 W 95 St. Last year they packed the room and it was
      an incredible concert. I had the honour of spending some time with
      the band this summer in Tzfat, and let me tell you: they're the real
      thing! Check it out for some spiritually elevating music, inspired

      Also 11/11 7-9PM it's the kickoff party for Bilubi, a mixed
      choir for "enthusiastic people who want to learn to sing Israeli and
      Liturgical, Hebrew and Yiddish choral music." New participants

      Monday, November 12 at 7:15 PM Chava Baygell is observing the
      first yahrtzeit for her brother Shlomo Reuvain ben Shmuel Gershon by
      sponsoring a light dinner at the Chabad of the West Side, on the
      corner of Columbus & 92 St. I'll be there with my guitar to sing as
      his soul ascends through the upper spheres on the anniversary of his
      death. Following the dinner will be maariv and a tanya class given
      by Rabbi Kugel at 8:15 PM. Please come and take part in this mitzvah

      Kunstler playing original songs on guitar. In this play, "the
      characters confront the spiritual choices facing us today." The
