      Dear Friends,

      This Shabbos we bless the new month of Sh'vat, announcing
      that Rosh Chodesh will be this coming Monday, Jan 30. That means
      spring is in the air, at least in Israel, where the first buds of
      fruit trees are beginning to sprout. Two weeks later we celebrate Tu
      B'shvat, the original environmental holiday. See below for a lot of
      great music events, and please send me any I missed so I can include

      Tonight, Friday, Jan 27 at 4:55pm I'll be leading the
      davening with lots of singing at Congregation Ramath Orah, 550 W110
      St, between Broadway and Amsterdam. And tonight I'll explain the
      kabbala of clapping - it goes way beyond just keeping the beat! For

      Saturday night, Jan. 28, 8pm is the 3rd performance of - M-
      SOUL - "Motzei Shabbat Open-mic of Univeral Language" featuring
