      B'H
      Shalom friends,

Next Shabbos is the holiday of Tu B'Shvat- the 15th of the Jewish
month of Shevat. The Talmud(Rosh Hashanah) tells us that the 15th of
Shevat is the new year for the trees. It marks the early blossoming
that is beginning in the Land of Israel; hard for us in the
cold and snowy Diaspora to relate to. The Kabbalists of 16th Cent.
Tzfat instituted the practice of having a Tu B'Shevat seder- full of
fruit, wine and deep symbolism. Next Shabboss also happens to be
Shabbos Shira- the Shabbos of song, as the Torah portion we will
read contains the Song at the Sea, which the Jews sung after
witnessing the miracle of the Red Sea being split. Despite the harsh
winter weather- both Tu B'Shevat and Shabbos Shira represent a
renewal of spirit. There is much to celebrate and lots of
      oppurtunies too-

Here some great Jewish music events to keep you warm and inspired!
